Aura Seeker: Tetsuo Hara draws Crasher Wake as an SAR
On 06.11.2026 The Pokémon Company revealed a special card from the Japanese set Aura Seeker (ハドウシーカー, M7): the Supporter card マキシの熱血 featuring Gym Leader Crasher Wake from Pastoria City appears as an SAR (Special Art Rare), drawn by manga legend Tetsuo Hara. Aura Seeker releases in Japan on 27.11.2026, 200 yen per booster with 5 cards.

Who is Tetsuo Hara?
Hara was born in Tokyo in 1961 and debuted in Weekly Shōnen Jump in 1982. From 1983 he drew Fist of the North Star (Hokuto no Ken) with writer Buronson, his biggest hit. Later works include Hana no Keiji (1990) and Sōten no Ken (2001). He has painted for the Pokémon Trading Card Game once before: Palafin ex from the Japanese high-class pack Terastal Fest ex, part of Prismatic Evolutions in the West. Crasher Wake is therefore his second Pokémon card.

How the illustration was made
In the official interview Hara explains that he drew Crasher Wake, a pro wrestler, as muscular but more restrained than first planned. At first he wanted to show him from below in the ring, with arena lights resembling the Big Dipper, a nod to Hokuto no Ken. Because the face came out too small, he switched to a forward jump. The many hand afterimages in the background were added while painting, and Hara himself calls them a “thousand-hands afterimage fist”. The water droplets stand for Crasher Wake as a trainer of Water Pokémon. The picture is painted by hand, with more highlights and thinner paint than Palafin ex. To close, Hara jokes that he now feels like doing a third card.
What does the card do?
The Supporter card (regular version number 076) lets you choose one of your Water Pokémon in play and shuffle it and all attached cards back into your deck. That saves a damaged Pokémon from being knocked out. According to the official site the card has two partners in Aura Seeker:
- Floatzel ex (020): The attack ハッスルスクリュー does 40 damage plus 100 for each マキシの熱血 card you reveal from your hand.
- Quagsire (018): The attack ねっけつヘッド becomes 140 damage for one Water Energy if you reveal a マキシの熱血 card.

Original artwork on display in Tokyo
The original painting and the card will be shown from 30.11.2026 to 11.01.2027 at the Pokémon Card Station in the Pokémon Center Mega Tokyo (Sunshine City, Ikebukuro).

What does this mean for collectors?
An SAR by a manga artist of this stature is rare, and Hara has only painted two Pokémon cards so far. Crasher Wake is likely to rank alongside Mega Lucario Z ex among the most wanted cards of Aura Seeker. Whether and when the card comes to the West is not confirmed yet. According to pokezentrum, the Western version of Aura Seeker is called Flowing Fists and is due on 05.02.2027; the date is not official yet.
