Greninja ex from 30th Celebration: The Deck Explained
Greninja appears in the anniversary set 30th Celebration as a Pokémon ex and brings an attack that feeds on damage already spread around. Combined with two older Greninja cards this turns into a deck that first builds the damage and then clears the board.
The maths behind the deck
The core is simple. Tarnschlitzer costs one Water Energy and deals 30 damage to any of your opponent's Pokémon for each damage counter already on it. At six counters that is 180 damage.
The counters come from Mega Greninja ex from Growing Chaos. Its Ability Fatale Shuriken discards a Water Energy from your hand once per turn and in exchange places six damage counters on any Pokémon of your opponent. First Fatale Shuriken, then switch in and attack with Tarnschlitzer: 240 damage in a single turn.
The third Greninja
Tera Greninja ex from Twilight Masquerade is the attacker for the early turn. Shinobi-Klinge deals 170 damage for just one Water Energy and then lets you pull any card out of your deck.
Its second attack Illusionsoffensive hits two of your opponent's Pokémon for 120 damage each. The attack costs three Energy, but with Zünd-Energie two attached cards are enough.
The support
Wellspring Mask Ogerpon ex pins a Pokémon in the Active Spot with Schluchzer. Sintflutpumpe attacks the Active Pokémon and a Benched Pokémon at the same time, exactly the tool against weak bench sitters.
Surfstrand is the deck's Stadium card. It swaps your Active Water Pokémon with one from your Bench for free, which is what makes the whole switching plan work. Budew blocks your opponent's Item cards on their next turn with Itchy Pollen. Dummimisel draws three cards with its Ability and then shuffles itself back into the deck.
For setup: Rare Candy evolves straight from Froakie, or Frogadier searches the deck for up to three Water Pokémon with Jutsu-Beschwörung. Meowth ex fetches any Supporter card when played.

What the deck costs in cards
The deck pulls from seven expansions. The expensive parts are the three Greninja ex and Wellspring Mask Ogerpon ex, the rest are common Trainer cards. If you already play a Water deck, you probably own a large share of it.
Worth noting for collectors: Greninja ex from 30th Celebration also exists as a Special Illustration Rare under the number 148/128. It is not needed for the deck, but it is the more sought after version of the card.
